ASAG strives to support zoo and aquarium avian programs, conservation and to serve as a resource of avicultural knowledge. How do we accomplish these goals?
ASAG runs a dynamic website that provides a variety of resources including the most up to date husbandry information for the avian community, vendor information, and staff training opportunities. ASAG organizes annual workshops, including funding keynote speakers. These workshops are developed to help keep the staff up to date on the most recent animal care practices to help provide the best avian care and welfare.
Each year, ASAG organizes a social event at the AZA® Mid-year Conference, called the Wine & Cheese. This event enables us to bring together the avian community to help develop and strengthen relationships across institutions.

Fund grants and awards that improve avian welfare and help develop staff.
